In this video we go through the two recommended methods for safe steering, hand over hand, and the shuffle method.
These are both good, and acceptable on the ICBC road test, and other roads tests.
Two steering methods to avoid are known as hooking, and palming. These are not recommended because the airbag can be potentially dangerous (it deploys at about 300 km/hr in a collision, which is about 186 mph), and they're just bad control in general.
