If you’re wondering who writes all these articles, well it’s me Carmen. Just a girl from Canada who taught some driving lessons for a ripple in time. A bit about me…
I had always been in love with driving, a long, long, long time before I was allowed to learn how to drive.
I used to sit and stare at the cars driving down the highway as a kid instead of watching sesame street. 😆
When I was a teenager, I was begging my mother to take me somewhere, anywhere, in the car. And when I was 16, I was trying to teach my friends how to drive, even though I didn’t know how to drive myself.
Finally when I was allowed, I became a driving instructor in North Vancouver, Canada at the old age of 22.
It was nothing like I thought it would be. Teaching driving, and actually just driving, are two different things. Much like spaghetti and Florida. Although I do admit, being able to enjoy your spaghetti in Floria… now that’s something very special right there. 😉
I thought I would just tell the student what to do and then they would do it, and we would all live happily ever after. 😆 Wrong.
Firstly, I couldn’t tell the student what to do because I didn’t even know what I was doing.
Secondly, that’s not how people learn.
And many students did not practice at all, whatsoever, for various reasons. So when I showed up all excited to teach them something new, I couldn’t. I had to teach them basic things all over again.
I started this blog in 2012. I was beginning to grow out of being a driving instructor. But I still felt like I had this fresh ‘driving instructor brain.’
What better way to share my knowledge with the world, especially for someone who loves to write? Plus, when you teach driving lessons in a car, you can only teach one person at a time. How insanely time consuming and inefficient is that? 😆
When I write all these articles on my website blog, there is no limit to the amount of people who can benefit from it.
That makes me very happy, since I know that driving lessons are expensive, and not everyone has access to a helpful co-pilot. Not that you can drive better simply by reading about driving, but I’m sure it counts for something.
I don’t teach driving lessons anymore. But I will always work on my blog. I just hope that it helps people who are learning how to drive, and perhaps too, people who are teaching someone else how to drive.
Lately I have been working on my art store, and a few other projects.
While intersections don’t particularly excite me anymore… 😆 this website will always be my baby.
I may stop writing new articles about how to drive, but I will probably still be writing something about cars.
No guarantee that I won’t fly completely off topic though. The next thing I love the most after driving is spaghetti. That was just a totally random – and true – fact for you!
Another random fact.. There are 314 articles on this website and counting. So if you are looking for something specific, use the search function.
Anyway, I think that’s all I have to say about that for now.
I hope everyone is staying safe and not too stressed out now that the world has been turned upside down and inside out.
Take care and always remember that doing nothing at all, actually counts as doing something. 🙂 I just wanted to say something different from Bonnie Henry lol.
Oh, and I also know how to use Photoshop. I can “fix your photos” for you if you need that.
I can remove or add backgrounds, change the color of hair and eyes on people, remove wrinkles and blemishes and under eye darkness, improve skin, remove a person, and generally make your photos look better.
Oh I found some examples of my Photoshop skills. Besides being a closet artist, I’m also a closet photographer.. .
Here is a kind of bad example, because I can do so much more, but I kind of just fixed the face here a little and changed the background.
Here, I changed some hair and removed the arm reflection from the sunglasses.
Here I removed a black eye….
Here I just did some “cleaning up”…
